Why do civilizations have laws?

Why do civilizations have laws? Hmm... well first of all, if we didn't have laws, whenever someone does something bad, without laws to judge them, it would be very easy to continue the crimes. For example, in some countries, if a son strikes his father, his hand will get cut off. This will teach the son a lesson that he should respect his father and never do it again.

Also, without laws, the world won't be like now. People would have no manners and they won't respect each other like now. The world will be going CRAZY with out the basic regulations to be followed. Laws are a kind of promises we made to each other to make this world a better place to live peacefully, and promises are made to keep so lets keep the promises and follow the laws.

Papau New Guinea are not as advanced as those from the Fertile Crescent, Europe and America because their crops were not nutritious.

Connect, Extend, Challenge

Today in humanities class, we had a class discussion about the movie, "Guns, Germs and Steel." We each made connections, extended on the connections and questioned about info's we're struggling with. Then we got together as a class and shared thoughts. I already knew (well...everyone does...) that in early men periods, they had to use their resources around them for food. But what made me think even further was that the wheat and barley (one of the resources for food) has much more protein than the Sago tree (another resource for food).

The Steps From Little to More

Today in humanities class we watched a movie called, "Guns, Germs and Steel." We had to take notes during the movie. At the end of class, we individually gave a heading which wraps up the whole movie. My heading was, "The Steps From Little to More."
The showed us the progress of foods for human beings. In early men period, people searched food by mainly hunting. In Papua New Guinea, people also got food from Sago trees. Sago was major food for them. But it didn't have enough protein and calories. So somtimes they ate a disgusting insect like giant spiders. At the same time, Papua New Guineans began to plant seeds of wheats and barley. Therefore, they became the first farmers in the world. Their farming works were very primitive. They just farmed everything with bare hands because at that time, there were no tecnology developed. There weren't any effective tools like ploughs to do the farming. However, they were smart enough to use animals' droppings for natural fertilizer. Now a days, we are living in the civilized society. Although Papua New Guineans still has somehow similar living attidude like the early man period, people are enjoying a better quality of life including nutritious foods.
I feel that the world has been moving from little to more.

Civilization VS Early Man

While I was studying the "Wall of Thoughts" I realized that the world had changed a lot from the past till now. It had become more comfortable and better for us to live in. For example, food. In the past they had to hunt animals for food, eat plants and insects that aren't harmful. But now, we have shopping malls and Cold Storage to get food from. Another example, education. Early man had to teach each other or learn from experiencing. Now, people have tutors, schools, parents and jobs to learn from everyday. As we well aware of, the basic items for human being to live such as ingredients of food, water and numbers of natural resources are remained the same since early man's times. Most importantly, our global warming is getting worse from the polutions that are happening right now.

Kuala Lumpur a Civilized City

Education is one of the things that makes Kuala Lumpur as a civilized city. There are a lot of International Schools as well as Chineses, Indian, and Malay Schools. There are also some well known Universities in KL. Students learn many new things in school. Teachers help students learn new things every day and provide fun activities for them after school. At school students learn...

• new languages (example: spanish, manderine, french...etc)
• math skills and math tricks
• science (the most amazing thing happen!)
• PE...get healthy!
• Humanities ( improve on writing)
• and EVEN MORE FUN CLASSES HERE!

For adults, they go to jobs. That's another education. Jobs provide adults money for their family.
